Ibrahim's du'a for a righteous child
These are the words Ibrahim said when he prayed for a child, and Allah answered him with the good news of a forbearing son. Notice what he asked for: not just a child, but one from the righteous. Muslims say it when hoping to conceive, and after conceiving, so that Allah grants not only offspring but offspring who are upright. It is found in the Qur'an, surah as-Saffat (37:100).
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Rabbi hab li minas-saaliheen
My Lord, grant me a righteous child.
