The tahlil (declaring Allah's oneness)
This is the tahlil, the declaration of Allah's oneness. Said a hundred times in a day, the Prophet ﷺ said its reward is like freeing ten slaves, with a hundred good deeds recorded, a hundred sins erased, and protection from Shaytan until evening. It is also said after the obligatory prayers. One of the lightest phrases on the tongue, heaviest on the scale.
Lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr
There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion, His is all praise, and He is able to do all things.
Authenticity: Sahih (authentic), reported by al-Bukhari (6403) and Muslim (2691).
